differences in 924 turbo in 1980 to 1982
What are the changes in the 924 turbo from 1980 to 1982?
I have seen what appears to be two excellent examples of these cars, but priced drastically, both are valued drastically different.

The change happened in 1981
The engine changed turbos. Newer one is smaller but gives more boost. Spools up quicker but does not give the rush of the older one. Personal taiste some like the 80 some like the 81-82 Now at that same time the engine management was drasticly updated. It went electronic with a sensor on the flywheel and such. The gas mileage went up by some thing like 20 percent and the hp increased 10hp. I believe the compression was boosted slightly also due to the ability to monitor the engine closer with changes above. The 5 speed transmission went back to a standard H patttern. The older cars were the dog leg 1st gear above reverse. The 1981 cars had standard 5 bolt alloy wheels and 4 wheel disc brakes. The 1980 cars could have sport suspension with these brakes but was optional. If you get one of the last 300 or so 1982 931s these have the upgraded 944 ventalation. Anyway I am sure I have missed or over simplified some thing so if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me or post a message at www.924.org Eric
