2.7 L engine specs and mods

Gentlemen, I am on a quest for knowledge. I have 2 questions. 1.What makes a 2.7 L different than the 2.5 L? The bore? The stroke? 2. Can you use a 3.0 L crank in a 2.7 L engine? What happens to displacement?

2.5L is 100mm bore, 78.9mm stroke.
2.7 has the 3.0L bore of 104mm and the 2.5L stroke of 78.9mm

3.0L has 104mm bore and 88mm stroke.

A 3.0L crank in a 2.7L will make a 3.0L capacity. Also you can make a 2.8L using a 2.5L block with a 3.0L crank. You will obviously need the required rods and pistons to go with any change.

Trying to get more info on this. I know it’s technically feasible but has anyone done it? What performance can be expected from a well setup 3.0 8V?

I went for a ride around Mosport with an instructor who has a well set up 944 with a 3.0l engine and i can honestly say it made my 2.5 N/A car feel like a turtle ...

It's a Canadian owned car , possibly built by Blaszack in Ontario ?
