headlight problem

I've got a '86 944 turbo. Every time I turn on the headlights they come on and up just fine but won't stop where they should. Instead, they go a little further and point down about three feet in front of the bumper. Whats going on?

Look under there at headlight troubleshooting. Sounds like adjustment issue?

Thats what I thought too but when I adjust them to where I can see at night they won't park correctly when I shut them off.

Mine started doing the same thing but found the bracket (next to the headlight motor and held down by 2 bolts to the frame) had shifted when the bolts got loose. The holes are slightly oval allowing you some play in its position. By repositioning the bracket and retightening the bolts, the headlights are now pointed in the general area they should be shining again.

headlight problem

OK, after loosening all the linkage holddown bolts and the arm on the motor I finally got those headlights pointing correctly! Thanks for the help.
