Coil Problem, what else?
This week my 1977 Porsche 911s lost all power while driving on PCH. Brakes went dead, too, which surprised me. Thankfully no one else was on the road and I coasted to a stop.
Had it towed to a place in Laguna Beach and the nice folks there fixed the coil wire that corroded off for free. The tow truck driver was trying to tell me it was my fuel pump and also something with my brakes. Seems like he was wrong as now the car drives as well as it did before this. But my car does have a hard time starting. Could be a vacuum pressure issue. And there's this constant noise coming from under the front, near where the gas tank is. At first I thought it was the blower fan just running and running and won't shut off (my car has tons of electrical stuff that doesn't work right) So now I wonder if there is a problem with my fuel pump as well, due to the annoying, whiny noise it makes. Can any of you experts suggest some courses of action I can take to fix the noise? And wrt to the coil issue, should I be concerned with anything else related to that? TIA |

Lots of experts here, but they mostly gather to water cool type problems. You'll have a better chance getting an answer on the 911 forum on that one.Stay
