@%&&&!!! Inconvenient No Start#
Ok, here's the deal: sometimes, when I am not expecting it, my N/A will not start. I have determined that it has no spark. Can a misfitted distributor cap do that? (Clarks Garage ) After a few minutes the car starts normally and runs fine until the next stop. It has never failed to start cold and never stalled. It started this after I replaced the cam tower gasket and the timing belts.

The distributor cap not being seated would show up as a poorly running engine as well as not starting. It's a little tricky to get it seated correctly, true but I'd also check the wires and connections between the cap and the coil as well as maybe replacing the DME relay. Anyting electrical like relays sometimes fail abruptly and sometimes they fail occasionally driving you crazy. They're cheap (relatively) on ebay and frequently cause starting problems. When your car is running normally and you stand on it, does it perform properly? If not then I'd suspect a possible fuel delivery issue, i.e., filter, pump, regulator/damper, etc. In this case Clarks Garage talks about doing a fuel system test.

I would check the DME relay first. There is a way to jump it out and it is listed on Clark's.

Well, I thought it healed itself as it started fine for a few days and Saturday it wouldnt start. Sunday it would not start as well. I looked at Clarks and unplugged the sensors and reconnected them. Bam! It started. It is running the fuel pump even when it does not start, so would you guess the reference sensor? Are the 2 sensors identical?
