Smile Its good to be back! a re-introduction

I joined the Porsche community and Pelican 6 years ago. My 944 brought me to Pelican where i discovered what an awesome group of people were out there behind these cars. It was mind opening and refreshing.

After almost 5 years of ownership i sold my 'project', a well in order, 1988 944. that i loved dearly... I replaced her with a 2011 BMW 328. No matter what mods i tried, i just couldnt get that 328 to measure up to the fun i had with my 944. I missed the people, i missed the community, i missed shifting through gears and just enjoying driving the car. I even missed a bit of wrenching (dare i say that?).

Its a very funny long story, but the short of it is, the undiscovered people I missed the most are exactly what brought me back here again, just a little over a year after leaving. All by chance, you meet new friends along the way in every twist and turn.

i'll never leave you guys ever again. and the people ive met along the way i hope to become even closer with and look forward to new adventures.

I'll still check in around the 944 sub section, and i'll always call this subsection home.
Its good to be home.

what started it all...

Today, just arriving in my garage and her new home

obligatory garage shot

Kevin, glad to see things worked out with the 993. Polar silver on a 993 is basically sex on wheels .

Glad to see you've gone back to a P car. Even tho it's in another web category, we're all pleased for you. My wife had a boxster and sold it so she could get a convertible for the extra grandkids. We bought a Camry Solara and in the first ride with the top down the kids nearly got blown out of the back seats and she hated the ride comparison. So she sold the Solara and bought another boxster. Black of course and who gets to keep it looking good? Me! Stay in touch.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Welcome back. The 993 is a great car. I sold a white over classic grey '96 about a year ago. Miss it. Owned it 7 years and about 24k miles. Other than an annual oil change and a set of rear tires every 5k, it never asked for anything. I found that the oil change was too complicated for the $275 that my local Porsche dealer wanted to do it, so I really never turned a wrench on it.

Wondering why I sold it? Because every time I drove it some a-hole in a mustang wanted to race. Jackholes spit on it when it was parked (this happened more than a few times). It was ROW hieght and had 18" wheels and my wife wouldn't ride in it because it made her sick (she threw up in it when she was carrying my youngest son). Other than my wife, I think its a Michigan problem admist a bad economy.
