				Exellence Price Guide

Does this price guide have any sort of relevance to buying and selling? Or is this just retail prices a used car lot would sell 944s for? I know I would love to get $4900 for my 85.1 that is definitely in above avg condition. Last edited by Guest1287; 04-18-2012 at 10:38 AM.. Reason: Not Finished | ||

I would say it comes to a few things, most important of which is how smart your buyer is. Due to the fact that the 944 can be had for these prices and is still a Porsche it tends to attract a a some what uneducated crowd in some cases. Although those people dont exist on places like this because they would never go out of there way to do there own work. They bought the car because its a Porsche and they wanted the name. To these people they will pay the book value and walk away no matter the "nice" condition as they have no idea what a timing belt is. When I bought my 944 I showed up in my 911SC that had custom door panels I made and lots of work I had clearly done. The seller immediately dropped the BS. He knew I knew what I was talking about and looking for. Had I have rolled up in a civic and had my hat on backwards he would have most likely continued with the BS. He was a very nice guy and gave me a great deal because he knew I would care for it and I knew the issues with the car. That being said I would say this char reflects what you may be able to sell you car for to some one who knows what a car is, could sell your car for to some one who has no idea, and would be lucky to get from some one who knows what a rocker arm and spring plate bushing is. Regards Dave

| AFM #725 |
From prices I've seen a well-kept 944 in good condition should fetch $4,500 to $6,000 easily
