Yeah, my website. ha ha But really, check it out, it might be what you need. www.only944.com/parts
The rubber parts inside the locks are old and fall apart, which causes the hatch to rattle and squeak. The metal pin rubs against the lock causing the squeaking. I have made and sell replacement part to fix this. There are other things that can cause the squeaking but this is most likely the cause. The glass coming off the frame could cause squeaking. Check the pins in the hinges at the top of the hatch to make sure they are all the way in. Or the noise could be coming from something different all together. Odd are you need new hatch pin seats. Open the hatch, put the key in the lock and turn the key like to unlock the hatch, take a flash light and look down inside the locks to check on the rubber parts.

I did not follow the comprehensive repair procedures, I cheated. I did not remove either lock assembly. I used a haemostat, held the latch open with the key and fished out the remnants of the old rubber. I then continued to hold the lock open and placed the new grommets in the correct orientation in the lock, then I closed the hatch carefully. They popped happily into place. I then checked the fit with the properly-sized socket, lubricated the whole thing with "chain wax" from my bike (grit doesn't stick to it) and adjusted the pins for the correct depth so that when I thump on the hatch it sounds solid at each lock.
That's it. Haven't road tested it yet as its going to rain... |

Cheater. haha That is one way to install them. I would advise removing the locks and cleaning them, but it can be done that way too.
