Power window question

Hi All,

My driver side power window started not closing properly recently. When I removed the door panel and looked at what was going on, I noticed that one of the arms of the scissor mechanism is loose, while the other one is rigid. Consequently, the front of the window "falls down" frequently.

I haven't removed the scissor assembly and the window motor, yet, so I don't know how it is supposed to be. Can anyone tell me if the both arms of the scissor connected to the bottom of the window should be rigid, and what keeps them that way?

Thanks,
oreke

Thanks for the link John. I don't think it's the plastic rollers, because I could see that they were intact. In fact, I had to put the window back on the rollers, because it had come off.

The thing I noticed when the window was off the plastic rollers was that the front scissor arm moved up and down freely, while the back arm was fixed and only moved if I operated the motor. I wanted to find out if that was expected or not.

Unfortunately, I can't remove the window motor and scissor assembly out this week. So I'll probably have to wait until next weekend to see what is going on.

Thanks,
oreke

My window glass had actually fallen out of the steel track that attaches on the bottom. I used some permatex to glue the glass back to the rubber that held it in.
