The S2 USUALLY starts fine.....
Okay- The '89 944S2 (What a great car) occasionally cranks for an awfully long time before starting. Mostly after the car has been sitting for a couple weeks. Usually fires right up, but when it doesn't, it really needs to crank for a while, then finally fires.
Can the fuel rail be loosing pressure while sitting? Can the check valve leak intermittantly? I wouldn't think that an injector is leaky because it happens so infrequently. Any ideas? |

Possibly a leaking check valve, or could just be stuff gumming up in your fuel system from sitting for a while.

DME relay.... replace it.... have a spare. they only cost $20
Just a note to 944 owners. It is very frequently the issue when the car will not start or... is very hard to start... DME relay. Cheap cheap cheap fix and very easy to replace. Don't waist your time checking every system before you replace the relay.
Glad that your S2 is now back on the road! Eric
