Help with hatch noise before it drives me NUTS

There's a clunking from the back of my car which is driving me insane. My hatch became hard to shut, with the pins not grabbing, but I adjusted them and now it closes easily. However there's a clunking that's been getting worse. I don't know if my hatch pin seats are deteriorated or what. I'll post a picture looking into the locking mechanism.

I recently had all the shocks replaced, but the rear still rode harsh, I assumed because the car has 8 year old cupped P6000s (as you'll hear in the video).

I hope from the video you guys can help me diagnose what's going on, because it's killed my desire to drive the car. Thanks!

Go to Only944 and get the new hatch seats, and if you need it a new rear hatch seal as well.

Seems tight when I yank it. I'll try the only944.com hatch fix.

Use your fist and thump the rubber spoiler, of course with the hatch closed. If it rattles or clunks you need new bushings inside the lock and probably the pins need adjusting so it closes tighter. The fist part will tell the tale.
