Second plea for help

These may be stupid questions but the idle speed on my 85.5 944 na fluctuates between 700 and 800 RPM's and briefly drops even lower briefly when AC is turned on. I would like to kick it up to about 950 or so. Where is the idle adjustment screw? There is a yellow plastic cup-shaped free spinning disk where I thought adjustment screw should be. I know also that I must defeat the idle stabilizer at the diagnostic plug when I adjust idle speed. Where is the diagnostic plug? I assume i should leave the throttle stop screw alone, right?

Quick and easy idle adjustment

The following should be done while the engine is off:

rotate your throttle cam - you should hear a click right as you start to rotate the cam. If you don't, loosen the stop screw nut and adjust the stop screw until you do. Again, it should click right as the cam starts to rotate.

Hold the screw stedy and tighten the nut.

Do the following while the engine is warm and at idle:

Below and to the left of the throttle cam, you will see 2 strange looking nuts - you want the one on the right.

With the appropriately sized socket, turn the nut. I can't recall off the top of my head which way you turn it, but as you do, you will hear the engine speed changing, either faster or slower - set the idle to where you want it.

Voila, you're done.

you don't really have to defeat the idle stabilizer to set the idle up or down.

Where do I get one?

I want an AFJuvat for my garage, where do I get one? Do they eat anything other than Data? Does it come with a P-whatever belt tensioning tool? If not, I'll take one of those too.

Hehehehe

They are generally available for rental on a daly basis. Care and feeding is generaly limited to BBQ, dark beers, coca-cola, and Jack Daniels. Yes, with enough prior notice, they come with P9201 and P9201a as well as specialty tools as needed.
