A/C blowing hot air...

Got an anoying issue with my a/c momentarily blowing hot air upon acceleration. It only does it for a few secs, usually upon starting from a dead stop and on a fast take-off... Afterwards it blows cold air again, what gives??? PS: The system blows hot air upon accel when a/c is off too!!! (fan also off...) If anyone cqan shed a light I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

When you let off how fast does it return to normal? Immediately or does it take a few seconds?

It takes a few seconds... No more than a minute though, but even after it is blowing again, it takes a few sec for the temp to get cold again...

Doesn't vacuum control the heater valve in front of the firewall?

I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but, I always try the simple/cheap things first...

Check your alternator/AC belt for proper tension and/or excessive wear. If your belt is loose and/or worn, you may not get the compressor spinning as quickly as it needs to be, until it has time to "catch up" - Especially since you say this happens when you go from a dead stop to a fast take-off.

Can you duplicate the problem with the car standing still? Does it do it at any other time?

Beyond that, there are quite a few causes - some easy, others ugly. Need some more details to troubleshoot this one properly.
