I recently had a baby and my wife wants me to get a car a little more practical for the kid like a nice four door and i was just wondering what everyone else thought.

For the money, the WRX rocks! 0-60 times that would make a "s" blush and you can still tell your wife it's a family car.
The 4 door beater/keep your car option has it's merits too (that's the route I am currently following). |

I am leaning toward the wrx myself. I went a test drove the lexus and it was anawesome car but they want way too much money plus its has 215 hp and weighs 4300 pounds the wrx has 227 hp and weighs like 3870 and its about 5-9k cheaper. I think that kinda answeres that question but i am still looking at the lexus

Thats a tough situation you have. I actually drove a '01 IS 300 today and I liked it. I especially liked the interior (read: guage setup) and it felt good to drive. But the WRX is all-wheel drive and a blast. And they look good, IMHO. But then the Audi is another fine German car that we all love so much. I also love the interior of the Audi and have driven those as well.
Thats a tough, tough decision. I think I would go test drive them all back to back and make a decision. I would kinda lean toward the Audi, then the WRX and then the Lexus. Goodluck! |

I like the WRX and also Audis....I'm a fan of AWD cars in general for use as daily drivers.
Also look into a used BMW 3-series, they are a blast to drive, and the BMW inline 6 is one of the best motors out there. |

If you want a fun car, WRX. The Audi and the Lexus are nice, but they're over-priced yuppy rides. |

I own a e36 bmw 3 series! It definitely is a blast to drive, and the inline 6 sounds great at full throttle! The rear seat is spacious and the trunk is surprisingly large. One of my friends owns the IS300. The engine is smooth and powerful. Another of my friend owns the WRX (but its an auto). The interior is kinda bland, i think the styling is also kinda bland. As for performance....NOW THATS NOT BLAND! As for the A4, the new styling is awesome! very very european. However, I am not sure about the reliability. where some sources say audis last forever, some say they suck. So, i have no clue. But from the outside, they look great! However, i must point out, that the bmw 3 series was the first of the luxury sport sedans for the younger buyers. They have since continued to keep on top, with audi and lexus trying to match the performance. The bmw 2.5L engine may be one of the most bulletproof on the road. It will also bring a smile to your face. Midrange torque is excellent while the newer 3 series are equipped with VANOS, bumping torque even lower. All in all, they're great cars with awesome resale value. |

I would keep your car and buy a second piece but if you're not keeping the p-car then get the wrx for sure! Good luck
