16 Valve torque question?
Did some preventative maintenance on my 16 V s model this weekend to include replacing the tensioner pads on the chain. I did a search on the subject and found some conflicting numbers so I wanted to ask outsight. i am looking for the torque values on the J-tube and the valve cover bolts. I also found conflict on the subject of dry valve cover gasket or with RTV... Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Factory Service Manual says 10Nm (7 ft lb) for both the cover and the banjo bolts.
Be careful with all the little crush washers (slippery). Stuff paper towels in the oil passages just in case. Factory also puts a little sealant on the gasket on the bends where the gasket breaks up off the main sealing plane. I used sensor safe RTV here , and a light coat of oil elsewhere.
