Warning light at sharp revs

Have started to find that the main dash warning light has started to flicker when the engine is revved sharply. Can come on at only 2500 revs but only flickers and goes off again when revs drop. Doesn't come on at all up to 4-5000 revs if accelleration is gradual.

Anyone seen the same?

Suggestion on another thread that might be a ground / earth problem.

I know it sounds obvious, but how's your oil level and pressure reading?

Maybe you have a cracked pickup tube. I hope I am wrong!

Both pressure and level reading fine.

However, I suspect that I have another problem looming now - faint traces of milkshake in the oil. Hopefully the oil cooler seals rather than the head gasket. Couldn't see oil in the coolant though but need to check again in the daylight.

Could be electrical.. I just recently got a new issue where the main warning light and brake fluid light/words will come on seemingly randomly and then go off, or flicker on and off. or it's just off. Idk, but I am changing all the brake and clutch fluid anyways and will go from there.

When I get time and daylight I'm going to run through the grounds (as I think you might have suggested previously). Electrical sounds a real possibility. Appears to be most prominent (i.e. at lower revs) when 'everything' switched on - i.e. screen fan, rear window, main beam etc - so sounds like related?

When was the last time the brake/clutch system was flushed to get rid of the sediment? If you don't know, you may want to flush the system before you refill with new fluid. Use DENATURED ALCOHOL (available at home depot, lowe's etc) to flush your system, Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) contains water and will contaminate the system.

Okay, thanks for the tip.

I would suggest that you use a brake fluid like ATE Blue, so you can see that you have purged all the alcohol from each brake circuit when you refill and bleed the system.

Yep, already have a liter of the blue ready to go!
