Exclamation Nile Green Question

I just purchased a Nile Green 951 (not the color for everyone I know). I got an incredible deal regardless of the color. It was implied that there were not too many of these made in this color. My question is, how rare is this color really? And- How can you actually find this out?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome & congrats on your buy,Nile Green Porsche's are not that rare but a 951 will be since it was a (Special Order Color) so they can't be very much of them around. Here is a Nile Green in action. Btw we are pics addicts here so we would like to see your new ride.

Green is probably my least favorite color, but that darkish forestry green actually looks pretty good on the 944, one of the few shades IMO. I just realized, in Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed, that "Nile" Green color was one of the default colors on the 944 car in-game.

I bought the car just north of Birmingham, Alabama. Put a new battery in it, drained out the old 3 gallons of gas, replaced the DME relay, bled the clutch, and it fired right up! Drove it around for a while tonight (I should really put some plates on it though). I have already been offered twice what I paid for it. Overall, I would call that a WIN!!! Thanks for all of the input on the color. I have only found a total of 4 in this color so far. I am an independent contractor for a Porsche dealership here in Cincinnati and they have never seen one either. I'll keep everyone posted.

I haven't seen that color on a 944 before, but I gotta say, I really like it as much as Gaurds red. Being Irish with a name like "Kelly" for my last name, I tend to like green things.

I think that this is the same car that a buddy and I passed on for $2300. If you have literally been offered twice that for the car I would take it. No offense but to get that paint looking right again is going to take a lot of money and the interior needs just as much work. I am sure it probably needs tires, brakes, timing belt as well. Again - no offense - just coming from a someone who has lost a lot of money on 944s Course if you have 5 or 6k to put into the project and then enjoy it for a while then it is all good

*Josh- I work for a Vocational school that has an excellent Auto Collision class. The Instructor has already painted a Boxster for a friend, and another 87 944 for me. The quality of the work in incredible! All it cost me was the expense of the materials, about $375. As far as the interior goes, a buddy of mine has most of the pieces already. Tires, breaks, timing belt, and so on- basic maintenance that I would do on any car I buy. Thanks for the input and for posting the pics for me. I buy these cars to restore them to the original condition, to preserve them, not to part them out. Sorry you passed on such a great opportunity (not really), but by the time I'm done, I will only have about 5K in this car- And we all know, 5K in a pristine 951 is a STEAL!

That is great that you have an inside track on paint - it can be expensive to be done right!

I bought my Nile Green Metallic '87 944 N/A because it [U]was[U] this color. I love it because it's a great color and it's UNIQUE! I bought it on ebay in Santa Fe and fearlessly drove it back to SW Florida. I've been re-doing all the seals, belts, injectors, clutch, and a lot of other stuff. Now it's time to go after the cosmetic stuff. Hope you like the pics

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
