no fuel has spark
A 83 944 na that's been sitting about a year. It ran when parked. If I shoot carb cleaner in the TB it will run for about 5 sec, SO that tells me its firing right?
I removed the cap at the end of the fuel rail, only drips out. nothing when cranking. Broke opened larger line coming to fuel rail and same thing. Ideas? which relay is the fuel pump relay on the 83 944 ? so I can force it to run

Not sure about the relay location, but I'd crawl under it and see if it's getting power while someone cranks it over. If it's getting power, you need a fuel pump.

It's relay #2; second one in from the left side on the top row (furthest from the fuses). It's really two relays in one; one side controls power to the DME (engine computer) and the other controls power to the fuel pump based on a signal from the DME.
Check Clarks garage - there should be instructions on how you can make a jumper to test.

thanks, I checked and it has power at pump while cranking, drained tank fuel smelled bad, prob caused pump failure I guess. I have pump on bench if hit it with power in vise it just buzzes. I turned it up so it could soak with cleaner but im betting needs pump even if it runs as it not reliable I suppose.
Anybody have a link to a low cost pump or replacement ?
