Help with shopping list

Sadly parked my 1991 S2 cab in the garage for the winter. So its time to go shopping for some parts for the winter projects.

One of the projects I will rebuild the front brakes. They seem to drag and probably have not been rebuilt since new. Does someone sell a good rebuild kit?

Also recommendations on which front rotors and pads to buy would be appreciated. Car is street driven.

I want to redo my vacuum hoses is there sn S2 specific kit out there? If not what hose and clamps do I need?

Also need to change the 2 fuel lines in the back of the engine bay near the firewall. They heat insulation is cracked and missing. Does someone sell direct replacements?

Any help is much appreciated!

Mark

For vacuum hoses, unless it's a molded hose, like the ones that start out one size and end up a different one, you could buy fuel hose by the foot..... it comes on a big roll and they cut you a chunk. Pretty much all parts stores should have it. It's what I used on my 86NA in a few spots. If they don't have that in the size you need, ask for ATF cooler hose or rad hose.

For a street car, you can't go wrong with regular Zimmerman rotors and mintex pads. There's also the drilled variants. I am going to try out the ATE PremiumOne rotors soon as well. They are pretty inexpensive but have a sort of slotted design.

For Vacuum lines I used some nice blue hosing that the PO had purchased but not finished installing. It added some cool color to the engine bay which I liked. The PO had also purchased some really nice metal T joints to replace the plastic ones, they seem far more solid than the original ones and if you can find them I would get them.

If you dont have one a Motive bleeder is a must and you will need to bleed all 4 breaks and the clutch while you are in there, because they all feed from the same place.

I would also put on a new air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, distro cap and rotor and fresh oil while you are in there.

Regards
Dave

You can get the metal T's and colored hose in a Lindsey Racing vacuum hose kit.

If you want a good all around brake pad that is especially good for spirited driving, try the EBC red stuff. Definitely my favorite over the standard Mintex, but the mintex was certainly decent. The EBC's are pretty hard wearing, work great cold, and really take it to the next level once warmed up.
