OH NO! Another 944's in the snow thread...

Here's mine. We had a humongous (for the Seattle area) snowstorm here and I'm really proud of the trophy-size icicles on my NA.

My NA is usually in the garage but when it's really nasty, it moves out to the street and I park my truck in the garage. My NA is absolutely useless in the snow. It's got Yokohama AVE ES 100's on it. Not a bad tire for dry pavement but absolutely a loss at snow.

My 951 has Michelin all-season tires and it does okay, but my truck has 4WD and ABS, so there's no contest.

How about the rest of you? Got snow pictures you wanna share?

Cool snow pictures. I would post pics of my car in the snow but it doesn't snow here.(at all) I wish it did though, just a little.

But, if you want to play in the snow you don't have far to drive!

Man there hasn't been any snow out here in the mountains of VA. We always get snow, but none this year. I hope it does though, I haven't been able to do my yearly donuts and drifts in the snow this year, so much fun in the 944!

Yeah, snow isn't very far away from me, depending on how much snow I want to see, but it just isn't the same as living in it.

I'm itching to see our snow gone. I'm Jonesing to drive my 944's again. It's been about a week.

I backed my 951 about a car length out of the garage today and almost got stuck - I think we have maybe 6".

Right now it's raining and mid-30's so the icky stuff oughta be gone soon.

Hopefully!

I swap from summer to snow tires for the winter and keep driving. The tires make all the difference. I don't hesitate to take the car north from some x-country skiing.

It's all in the proper tires. My Bridgestone all seasons do pretty well in the snow and I was driving all over the place during that 2010 series of snow storms. Unfortunately, it still hasn't snowed yet this year (and last year was abysmal, too). In fact, the weather has been ridiculously warm. I really like driving this car in the snow and I am being deprived... So yeah, no pictures yet.

Love it! It's the first time I see you guys with more snow than we get... This winter, I have maybe 2 inches of snow instead of a few feet. We've had 1 cold week so far... I'd like to say I miss the snow but that would not be the truth.

Here's a couple from October. This was about a week before that really big snow storm that devastated the Northeast. Oddly enough we haven't had much snow since.

And here's one from last year (which is also my avatar on Rennlist)

Cool snow pics. I would hate to shovel that drive way. Your black 944 looks really clean. I bet they are really fun to drive in the snow too. I have never driven my 944 in the snow.

Doesn't ABS actually make stopping in snow worse? I know it's better on ice, but I've heard allowing the tire to act as a plow helps slow you down.
