how often do you guys replace the tranny oil?

standards, not magic boxes

I'm putting between 35 to 40k miles on my 86 944 with all the commuting I do and trips to Arizona

it looks like I'll have to do the belts once a year now with all this driving

so what about the tranny?

should I replace the tranny oil when I do the belts?

I replaced mine twice in six months. First time to just get rid of the tar I found (it appeared that it may have been the original lube sitting in there for 99k miles and 28 yrs) by using Valvoline 75/90 oil. After extensive research on this and other forums, I decided to change the oil a 2nd time (after @900 miles) with Red line MT-90. What a difference it makes with shifting! No more double clutching as she shifts very smooth, even in freezing temps. Red line is a superior product in my humble opinion.

This ^ . Ive only done mine once since buying it in 2009, no idea how many miles I have, cant get the odo to work .It wont hurt anything to change it at every belt change, it's just money and oil.

I'm going out on a limb here. I use AMSOIL 75W-90 and I change it every 35,000 miles. works for me...

Redline MT90 every 30k miles. It also has the proper additives for LSD transmissions.
