New car

Well, went out and bought the spousal unit a new car today - a Hyundai Santa Fe GLS.

(What can I say, the Cayenne was a bit out of my price range)

Final Irony, the 85.5 Porsche is in the garage, the 02 Hyundai is in the driveway, in the rain..........

Don't you think the Santa Fe looks like the cayenne? Just through some Porsche badges on their like all the ricers.

Now that you mention it.... it does look a bit like the cayenne...hmm... possibilities....., remove the Hyundai badging, drill a couple of holes in the hood........ Naah..... too cheesy.

Overall I'm still scratching my head at what Porsche was thinking when they came up with that. Though I do have to say that any SUV with a 0 - 60 of less than 6 seconds in rather impressive.

One little interesting bit of news I've heard, Porsche is considering offering their stock on the New York Stock Exchange. Current price in the european markets is 538 Euros per share (about $450 US).

$450 a share!!! Wowsers, that's high. I see that stock quickly becoming a stable stock for Buffet. Coca Cola, Microsoft, Disney, Gilette, Bombardier, and now Porsche!!! He loves those high priced, "stable over time" stocks. His theory is if any of the companies he invests in goes under, that would mean the world has come to an end, thus no worries. Oh, that Warren.

Congrats on the purchase!

By the way, it's not ironic that the Porsche is in the garage while other, newer cars are out in the rain.....rather, it's proper.

Driving a Hyundai has it's advantages, in my 01 Elantra I can...
Park it in public lots and walk away without a though.
Drive in rush hour an not worry about some fool hitting me while putting on makeup or reading the paper.
Do eighty on the freeway and have the highway patrol pass me without a look.

BTY 2.0 liter, DOHC, fuel injected, 140HP, 25-30 MPG, not too shaby.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh - gotta read slower I guess. It's hard to read posts, the paper and put on my make-up at the same time (just a slight bronzer, so don't worry)
