my vinyl wrap/color change on a budget.....

Hey there.....just going to share my budget vinyl wrap.....
My 924s' guards red has looked like crap since I got it, fenders didn't match etc.....
So being on a tight budget, and being familiar with vinyl I'm going to wrap my whole car for less than $80.
I'm using oracal 651 vinyl, about $30 for 30” x 10 yds.....have 2 of these rolls on their way and will have by the weekend.
Going with light orange....thought about lime green.....but sticking with my original decision of orange....
I will have some seams in places, but should be able to strategically place them so not to be super noticeable, except for the hood lol

Going to start the color change this weekend, keep an eye for pics as I'll update as I move along......

I'll be interested to see how this comes out in the end result. For a track car that has rough paint, it sure would solve some budget problems and make the car nice looking and something that could be changed every year or whenever you felt like. Does it cost more to have design graphics like checkerboard or other ?

The high grade vinyl can run big bucks.....like $600 just for the vinyl..
The 924s doesn't have any radical curves so it'll turn out ok, add the cheap vinyl doesn't stretch like the good stuff...
My paint is not perfect, this is my ”work truck” daily driver.......

I've used vinyl for many years, its all in the prep and use of a heat gun...
My bumpers/pads/handles/mirrors will all be coming of for the process.....

Awesome choice Brian!! I am really excited to see how it turns out. Hopefully I can come back to town for the Rolex in a few weeks and see it in person! And you can park next to Mark Peebles with his freshly painted orange 951 in the Porsche corral and show him your reciepts, haha!

So far i've got the hood, left fender, headlight covers, sunroof done.
If this was a car I wanted to look perfect I would spring for the expensive vinyl.....that stuff stretches way better than the cheap stuff for a reason lol
The large flat surfaces are perfect, the curves are a little tricky lol
