Running without airco-compressor?
Hi,
I have NO idea how much power the airco/compressor uses from the engine when it's turned off, but how about just taking a smaller belt to drive only the alternator? Or is this useless, as the A/C will not require any power at all when not running? By the way, i know there is a A/C deletion kit for race purposes. I'm pretty sure it will make it a couple of pounds lighter (what, 80 pounds, all-in?). |

You can delete the Ac w/out the kit. You have to use an adjuster from the power steering to adjust the alternator for belt tensioning, with a smaller belt of course. I used this to limp home before when an AC compressor mount tab broke.
