Hi I have a 1985 Porsche 944 with 15" tires on fucs wheels . I would like to put on a set of Porsche phonedial wheels. I found a seller that has 4 15 x 7 phonedials with part numbers 117964 for 2 of them and 117983 for the other 2 all with the same crossover part number 560-67154. Is it an issue that all 4 part numbers do not match? Are there other things I should look out for when swapping the origional fucs with the phonedial wheels? Thanks Scubasteve

I'll bet there a dozen guys on here who'd swap you phones for Fuchs.

Keep your Fuchs. Buy a set of phone dials. They are cheap $100-$200 depending on whether they have tires or not. I also wanted phone dials when I had my early NA... not sure why!

The Phonedials you want must be from a 1985.5 or 1986 car. Look on the inside of the wheel - you are looking for something that says "ET 23mm". This is the correct offset for your car, provided your suspension has not been converted to the late offset. ET 23mm just means the hub of the wheel is offset 23mm from the center of the wheel (towards the outside of the car).
PD's with ET 52 are for a 1987 and newer car. Those would look silly on your car. They may even rub, don't know. PD's with ET 65 (?) from an early automatic 928 would be even worse. I'm not sure why there would be a difference in part numbers, if they are all 15x7 and ET23. Unless one is a rear wheel that was (rarely) delivered on 74-89 911's. That wheel might be slightly different for brake clearance or something, but I wouldn't think so. Take care! Last edited by FrenchToast; 01-24-2013 at 06:24 PM.. |

Good god if you're tossing Fuchs for phone dials, at least go to 16's. Otherwise you've got the superior wheel already!

I will gladly trade my PD's for fuchs, but seriously keep those fuchs they are worth almost as much as some 944's. As said above buy a set of PD's (they are cheap) and keep the fuchs their value is only going up.
Regards Dave

I have phone dials from an '87 944S with no curb rash, just some minor scratches. The part numbers on the wheels are 944.362.104.00. Size is 7Jx15 ET52.3. They still have Pirelli P6 tires mounted on them with about 50% tread left in decent condition. PM sent, let me know if you're interested.

Oh man...What now?

Scubasteve, are you suffering from nitrogen narcosis? I think fuchs wheels are butt ugly, just my opinion, I like cookie cutters. To each his own. Trading out a set of fuchs for phone dials is like trading a dime for a nickel cause the nickel is bigger...Fins to the left of me, fins to the right...Oh my God is that Jimmy Buffett...

Fuch Fuchs....They look way better on 911's, they're a pain in the ass to take care of, and cost way more than they should. <---my opinion, don't get mad.

I have a set of early phone dials I'll sell you cheap but you have to promise to keep the fuchs so when you realize your mistake you still have them!

I am with the majority.
I have a set of 15" Fuchs that will be replacing the 16" Phonedials on my 86. Despite the downgrade in size, I still see the smaller Fuchs as an upgrade.
