I need help with my 944 will not crank, replace ignition swith, starter nothing, battery is new can anyone help : 1983, 5 speeds engine turn by hot wire the starter

more info please, year,auto? stick? no crank means engine will not turn?

If you don't get a tach bounce your reference sensor is probably suspect.

Try cleaning the grounds (battery, and the ground connected to the firewall to the engine, and also the small ground on the rear of the engine by the speed and reference sensors) Make sure your starter wire is clean at the battery terminal, and after you do these (all free), and you still dont get it to crank or tach bounce, then it may be the speed and reference sensors. How new is the DME relais?
