Sunroof

I know this is stupid, but I've only had the car 3 days. The guy said it came with manuals and all service records and I have yet to see them. I got a 1987 Guards Red 944, beautiful on the outside and the inside. A few minor things wrong underneath.

Anyway! Which fuse do I need to look at for the sunroof? That seems to be the only item not working. I'd like to check the fuse to see if it is blown! It'd be nice to have a manual so I can do it myself!!!

Thanks,
Ben

I would call the guy and find out where they are quickly! Without maintenance records, you have to assume that smoe of the critical items (belts) were not done.

The fusebox is under the hood, right in front of the drivers side windshield - look for a black box. There should be a chart on the inside cover telling you what fuses are what.

Done!

It was the fuse! Guess you need one of these to make it work?? Anyway thanks for the quick replies. As for the paperwork, he assures me it is in the mail (like we haven't heard that before!)

Do you now when the last timing belt service was done, even verbally? If you don't know or if it’s around the 30K mark since it was done you might want to stop driving it. Being a new owner you should know what others have learned the hard way. If that belt snaps, your valves will collide with the pistons. This usually means a whole new set of exhaust valve and a bunch of time to remove and replace the head.

I am just trying to emphasize what AFJuvat mentioned, you need to know.

Timing Belt and Water Pump done at 103K. There is 126K on it now. Going into the mechanic next week to have everything checked over and fix what needs fixing. He gave me the okay to drive until then. Said it was in great shape. My brother has a P car too so I have been made aware of everything that can go wrong. I have also researched for 3 months before I found the right car.

Thanks again guys!
Ben

Sunroof PartII

So it was the fuse, but now after a while the fuse blows. It also blows the fuse for the instrument panel and AC. Now what?

Also, the fuel guage does not work. Is getting a new sensor put in a tough job or a do-it-yourselfer?

One more thing! The horn sounds like crap and I ordered a new one. How easy is that to replace?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

This car is quickly sounding not so good! I would hurry up and drive it off a cliff (he he).

Seriously, welcome to the club. Listen to the fellas here, and you'll be fine.

ciao,
