Hi!
My 968 (92 german model) has a problem with rev limiting. it cuts very hard at 6.000 revs (sould rev up to 6.700). my garage said that this could be the motronic. i have checked/tested with other dme and chips, but the problem still remains. the rev limiting happens in all gears, the engine pulls very strong to the limit. any ideas? are there additional components for rev limiting? additional information: some time ago i went past the factory limit (i wanted to move on from the 5th in the 6th, but got the 4th) maybe that was the point the problem started... ![]() any ideas?! sascha |

i know very little about 968s, but i know some things that can cause low rev limiting on 944s. a bad leak in a vac line can cause it, or a clogged cat, but i dunno if that would apply to 968s too. good luck

Thanks for your replies!
![]() How can i check the calibration of my tach? Any hints?! I checked the vacuum lines, the cat is about one year old. Maybe there is a mechanism in the rotor of the distributor cap that limits the maximum rev? ![]() The car has MUCH power until the ignition(?) / injectors(?) are cut. Thank you Sascha ![]() |

Sasha-ger,
My post was errantly dispatched: see "packers".... bet your problem lies in the airflow meter. Scott |
