Heater duct gaskets - NLA

When I took the instrument cluster out to work on the voltmeter in my 968, I saw that the gasket(s) that seal the heater/AC air outflow to the ducts that go into the cabin had pretty much turned to foam powder. It looks to me in the PET, Illustration 813-00, that there are two parts involved, positions 10 and 11 (and maybe 11A. I have no idea what the difference is.). Part numbers 94457220100 and 94457216201. A call to Sunset shows these are No Longer Available from Porsche and the system shows no NOS at any dealers.

Mine were so deteriorated I couldn't use them as templates to make something up out of weather stripping or something like that. Has anyone else seen this, worked on this, fixed this??? It appears that these parts are also used on all the older 944 models going back to 1985. Ideas?

Just use 1/4in high density pvc foam, comes in rolls at any Home Depot, look in door and window weatherproofing, it's better than the OEM foam they used in the 80's.

I wouldn't shop at Auto Atlanta if they paid me, I wouldn't trust them to wipe my ash and do it right.

I would do as 9FF has suggested.

For the record, if a regular Porsche dealer can't get something like that then Auto Atlanta won't be able to get it new either. Their system only updates things as NLA when someone orders it and their dealer says it's NLA (just like pelican)

Prices alone should keep people away from auto atlanta. Sure there are horror stories around (none of which I've been involved in) but when it comes down to it they are a good 10% higher than pelican or the dealers.

Do you fly Learjet's?

Thanks for the tips. One reason I wanted the oem gaskets is that I am not really sure where the seal should be. My gaskets were so deteriorated I can't be sure. I guess I'll just have to get in there and figure it out.
Yes, I have an LRJET type rating and was flying them for a few years. More recently Hawker 800s.

I was going to suggest the cut your own gaskets using the old ones as templates routine!
But a google search turned up AA, and that was easier then typing...

Thanks for the heads up on AA.

You might want to post in the used parts section. Maybe someone has some you could use as a template for new ones.

I was able to get the "NLA" 944 turn signal lenses, new, from Auto Atlanta on eBay, and nobody else had them.
