Fuel Injector Cleaner

Does anyone recommend a brand of fuel injector cleaner or is that a waste of time and $$$? I had heard that Redline was good. Didn't know if many 944 owners regularly poured the cleaner into their tanks at each oil change.

For turbo's it's not wise to use a cleaner as discussed above. The cleaner can make some dirt particals come into the exhaust system. The particals can damage the turbo fan.

Will you feel an improvement - yes, maybe a little. Use techron, change your fuel filter, and use quality gasoline. After a tank or two, you should feel some improvement. There is an article in the tech section about cleaning injectors.

I find that Chevron and Valvoline FI cleaners both work. They won't give you 15 hp but I notice a smoother idle and acceleration, and probably better mileage but I don't check.

I sent mine to get cleaned and blueprinted. The engine runs much smoother now!

It is a gas treatment. You pour it in your tank when you fill up.

Porsche Crest

I run nothing but Chevron gas, three cars, nine years, no injector problems.

Chevron Techron. It's the only cleaner MB recommends - whether that means anything or not. MB doesn't like oil additives. About the only things they recommend are Chevron Techron and Water Wetter.
