Ate caliper rebuild : rear spring clips

The shop manual says to not mix up the spring clips from the rear calipers. I seem to have done so. They have a subtle shape difference - one arm is straighter than the other.

Which arm goes on which side of the cylinder - or any other clues?

I just did my rears tonight, and yes the two arms of the springs are indeed different.

Did you mix up your L/R caliper parts, so you don't know which one goes with which cylinder?

From what I can tell, the more bent arm goes on the same side as the bleeder.

Don't forget the 20 degree rotation for the piston as well.

I mixed up the clips. The bleeders go up. The other pieces are evidently exchangeable.

Do you have an explanation?
