Digital Clock Unit?

May be an issue with the power supply to it could be intermittent or dropping a super low voltage some times or something like that. It's also 25 year old digital circuitry it may just be shot.

Regards
Dave

Are you sure it coming from the clock. There are a lot of things behind and under the clock that will click but the clock is digital and has no moving parts to click.

Try removing it for a while and see if there still is a click.

There is a little vent above your glove box - there is a little fan in there to circulate air, this sometimes clicks if something is in it or who knows. I had one that did this... Didn't ever do anything about it though.

I used to have a similar click, it was when the A/C was on, it went away.

Any chance the recent heavy storms have driven water into the DME area?

What year is your car? Right hand drive ("RHD" used in places like the UK, Japan, and Australia) or left hand drive ("LHD" used in places like Germany, the US, and Canada)?

The LHD cars never had a DME located "next to the glove box." On early LHD cars the DME is under the steering column on the driver's side of the dash. On later LHD cars the DME is under the passenger floorboard. I'm not sure of the locations on RHD cars, but if you have a LHD car and the noise comes from "next to" the glove box, it's not the DME.

Same here, but in my case it's not so much the A/C as when my blower motor is going for any reason: heat, fan, whatever. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
