Headlight motor diodes

Happy 4th!

I found one of the diodes to be bad in my 924's headlight motor. What harm could be done if I bypass the bad diode in order to get the motor to work?

Best to replace the unit,they aren't expensive used,they are a big enough PITA anyway without adding more into the mix.
