Seafoam, have you ever, how did you do it

So I have heard some great things about seafoam and want to run some through my engine to take care of some little issues I have been having. I think I will run the spray as they outline in their video. However the older style says to pour it in the oil and gas tanks and the vacuum lines splitting it 1/3 1/3 and 1/3. Has anyone every done it this way. Which vacuum line did you run it through? If you used the spray did you take off the intake runner and put the straw in it as instructed or did you just pull the air filter off and spray it pre MAF?

Suggestions on other injector cleaner and similar products...

Regards
Dave

Try techron in the gas tank. I have used classic Seafoam a few times, via brake booster vacuum hoses. Seems to do the job. The spray stuff sounds easier to use pretty sure you just spray it past the J boot

I was surprised to see there was absolutely no smoke from the exhaust when I poured Seafoam into the brake booster hose. All the other videos showed what looked like a mosquito abatement project underway. So I just poured some in the fuel tank and let it go at that.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

I don't recommend it in the gas, it will just move crud from the tank into the filter and crud from the filter into the injector micro screens. And then you will need to see witchunter.

I can't think of a downside to putting it in the the vacuum lines except spray type is easier. Clean the throttle plate while you are in there.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish Valvoline high mileage might be a better answer for the crankcase. Removes deposits and rejuvenates seals.

The instructions are pretty clear on the can and goes something like:
  • warm car up
  • disconnect brake booster vacuum hose, insert funnel, slowly pour 1/3 of the can pausing when engine tries to quit
  • turn engine off
  • wait five minutes
  • smoke city.

Does it do anything??? Wellllllll, I've an '87 924s that has sat in my garage for a couple of years now and despite letting it run until warmed up once every month or so, it recently seemed to start chugging a bit. Even though it might probably be a case of old-gas one Seafoam application and it seemed to settle right down.

There are lots of youTube videos on the subject.
