Thank you very helpful, had found this site previously but didn't notice he sold the parts I need.
Biggest problem will be the freight Canada is a long way from me.
Want to use the original (GTS) Hella rectangular lights and have found those on Amazon for a fair price.

More research,it appears some of light assemblies used don't provide very good lighting so getting the 4x6 Hella's looks like the way to go.
I don't expect to get the same lighting as the original round units provide but the fact that they are an H4 upgrade should help.
My quest for weight saving is the main reason I am going to do this conversion plus I also really like the look.

The lights don't work we'll because half the lens is blocked due to the design of the buckets.

Actually using the entire lens would go along way towards rescuing the issues with the GTS lights. This is why some have started using projector lenses combined with driving lights in the nose.

Have tracked down the correct Hella rectangular headlights @ my local auto elecrtical shop, turns out the lamp assemblies are very common and he said he can order in the mounting buckets,he had the headlights in stock which was cool.
Have the acylic for the lenses and will be ordering f/glass buckets ex -Canada.

Most of the kits don't position the lights high enough and the front of the header-panel blocks half the light before it gets down to the road. You need to position the lights so that their upper-surface is pretty much touching the acrylic panel.

Yes that seems to be the problem,on the 924 site thread mentioned the guy makes steel buckets and the light units look too low.
I think it would make some difference how far back or fwd the lamps are.
Scored the correct acylic sheet yesterday and the felt for the covers
Have spare light covers from the parts car I can use for the moulding of the lenses in the oven.
My plan now is to make my own fiberglass buckets using 2 female ''one use'' plugs and making reuseable moulds for both sides,I have Claudes email address in Canada his kits are nice but as I have experience in fiberglass and can sourse the Hella lights and steel mounting bases @ a wholesale price.

I also need to locate a source for something like this, or figure out how to make it myself. I'm doing a turbo front end on my 944 LS1 project with the fixed headlights. Also wondering about possibly doing a headlight delete and putting them in the front valance instead...
