Porsche Crest automatic gearbox 010 "D" it does not move

good afternoon

I own a Porsche 944 Automatic 1986, and set it to "Direct" or "D", the car does not engage (it does not move), dismantle the automatic gearbox (it is a vw 010 321 105) and replace old disks by new disks, oil pump, and torque converter and assemble according to the manual,
but the car only move in reverse "R"; the direct "D", 1st and 2nd it doesn't work.

What is the possible problem?

any idea?

According to the troubleshooting guide in the 944 factory service manual, the symptom you describe is caused by "forward clutch lined plates burnt/worn" or "forward clutch diaphragm spring broken".

The troubleshooting guide is on page 37-17.

we changed the forward clutch diaphragm spring (it was broken) (attachment photo), and we replace all disks worn, for a new disk kit, and assemble the automatic gearbox, but continue with the same problem

the reverse gear works very good, but the other speeds not engage.

At this point, I would say that it is time for an automatic transmission professional specialist to get involved.
