Ok, what is the how much compression for each cylinder for 944S?

In PSI? I checked the factory manuals and I did not see anything in the contents of the manual.

can't recall off the top of my head but the numbers should be somewhere between 110 and 190 PSI.

to find compression values for a healthy engine, multiply 18/19 by your compression ratio. so, for your s it would be:

18 or 19 x 10.9 = 196-207

What is 18 or 19 figure? Where did you come up with that number?

Take your compression ration, assume 9.0 multiply by 14.7 psi (standard atmospheric pressure) you get 132.3 psi. Any deviation of about 5% for all cylinders should be further investigated.

if true, that would mean good compression for a 951 would be 117 psi! don't think any 951 owners would be satisfied with that compression. can't produce any realistic numbers using that formula.

re-read my previous post.

This is for an NA engine. IF you look at the factory spec. the turbos C.R. are always lower. With 9.8 CR you talking about 144 psi. That's where, I think 944S will be about.

144PSI for a 944S? If the ratio for a 944S is 10.9 and a turbo is running at 8.0@160PSI how is 144PSI@10.9 make sence?
