Castor block bolt stripped. Tap for longer bolt or time-sert?

Removed first castor block bolt comes right out with no effort...huh? Dang it, the first several threads are gone. I put it back in and the hold is just something short of tight.

Haven't had the pleasure of tapping a suspension point. Should I just go with a slightly longer bolt - say +5mm or do I need to do one of those time-sert inserts I've only heard mention of?

And I thought replacing the castor blocks would be an easy job

Why am I having so much fun?

unfortunately those are only in sheet metal, so timeserts and such won't work. you may get lucky and tap it out, but likely you will have to cut it out and weld in a new one.

I did that exact same thing a couple weeks ago. Just ended up tapping it to 7/16ths and getting the appropriate bolt. Nice and tight in there now.

7/16th's thanks - that sounds like the EASY button.
