Custom chips on 951

Hi,

I just chipped my DME and KLR with a set of custom SteveR chips. It also came with a new banjo bolt. After installing it all (i was new on the whole bosch motronic stuff), which was straightforward but still tricky, i started the car and the engine seemed to sound different, more grunt it seemed. But as it came to idle it just seemed normal again, nothing special.

I took the car for a spin, warmed her up and on a empty road i just slammed the pedal to the metal.... which almost meant the end of my rear tires. I had to stop my little testy-thingy as i was slipping and sliding, never had such a spin before. That was the first hint of the new chips. When i did a more controlled approach the car just picked-up normally and reached the 3000rpm, with full throttle, the turbo just went mad and before i knew it 7000rpm was there.. quick shift in second and back on throttle at over 4000rpm where it kept accelerating on to 6500rpm, shift into third and i was passing 100mph before i know it.

The chips just seem to have made the car more powerful and torquier on the whole. It also gave the top bhp a little extra boost i guess, because all hell breaks loose after 4000rpm. It also raises the revlimiter to 7000rpm, which is very useful on the circuit to avoid that annoying shifting between to thight corners. Though on the road i try to keep it under 6500, but it's hard in 1st

Steve called this the most 'conservative' version of his software (i asked him not to go too far), so i'm wondering what'll happen when you ask him to make the extreme version...

Steve did some great work and i hope to enjoy it for a long time!

Neat...I take you are a very satisfied customer...

What data did you have to give him to ensure his chip was properly mapped for your application...Is your turbo still the k26/6 or have you upgraded? I ask as I am in the same situation...

All stock, though a bi-cone air filter. Standard turbo still on. I asked him to give me his chip for better overall performance, and some extra bhp and torque. He just adjusts some variables (in my case conservative) and you'll have a VERY nice result. It's very powerful on the whole range, even noticeable below 3000rpm

Nope, no website as far is i know. He told me he pretty much cut down making chips etc. I got his name through various people from the US that had some good results with his chips as well and told me he was very reliable in making deals with him.
