Hi,
Have 89 944S2 Cab.. Since I have owned the Car the dashboard lights have been very very dim. You can hardly see the dials at night unless you are in an area with no street lighting.. The dimmer switch works fine and makes the lights even dimmer.. and the dim action is smooth etc.. Thought it might be an earthing problem ? Anyone know of a way to make them brighter or are there any known problems... earth etc.. Thanks in advance, Simon |

Most likely, the reflective surface at the bottom of your instrument panel has worn away.
You can restore it by removing the remains of the coating and using a self adhesive silver decal/foil. You will have to remove the instrument panel to perform this procedure. AFJuvat

I used foil tape on mine. It can be had at Home Depot type stores. It's called "Nashua 232" and used to seal air ducts.
