Deer at 40 mph

Just got my 85.5 together and running in July. The other night hit a deer at 40mph. Not much damage. The deer flew completely over the car.

that just sucks... Although it looks bad, it could have been a lot worse.

This stuff is what worries me about painting my car again, So I stated to the painter that I was going to drive this car not store and show it. This is why I got a great price from him. So sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I'd say you got lucky if that's all that happened. Get a new headlight housing, valence, and paint. GL.

40? Way too slow. I thought deer in TN just jump over a Porsche?

Deer Whistles need at least 60mph to be effective.

Do a 968 front end for an upgrade.

Glad you did not loose control. Good luck.

Have done found all the parts, and in the same color red. He even has the driver side fender to replace the one that needs painting on this one.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Sorry for your loss, and glad that's all that got damaged.

For those that have them, check to make sure your deer whistles aren't installed backwards, I hear that draws them in!

Ya know - I thought about this a bit more the last few days as I've had close encounters with deer during that time. Props to you for hitting (or braking and hitting) the deer rather than panicking and swerving off the road into a ditch. I still struggle with not jerking the wheel when a critter scrambles into my path...

Did not see it until I hit it. Ran between me and a new Corvette. Had my mind on eating up that Vette's rear. The speed limit had just changed and I was in third gear getting ready to go up a hill. I was still in my towns city limits.

Glad you're okay.

The deer likely got it worse. Be careful out there!
