Brake master cylinder identification
I was wondering about how to identify the part number or size of the master cylinder. I've got an '86 n/a with 951 brakes and suspension. I read that when upgrading to S4 or big reds, it is a good idea to change to the 951S m/c. I checked mine and couldn't find the part number or even if it is a Girling or ATE. The resevior says ATE on it and the m/c housing has the number 19 in a circle around it cast on the underside as well as the number 23 in a circle. I hope to upgrade to bigger brakes in the future.

If it is an ATE booster, it is an ATE M/C.
951 MC: 944.355.011.01 944TurboS: 951.355.011.01 Fortunalely, the brake booster is the same for both. You will also have to change your reservoir: 951.355.303.02 AFJuvat
