Tool 9244 doesn't fit?

I've been working on the belts on the car. I actually decided to buy the tensioning tool and the adjusting wrench, 9244. So anyway, I'm working along, balance shaft belt comes off fine using the 9244 then I get to the timing belt and the tool doesn't fit. The factory workshop manual says 9244 is to be used for adjusting both belts. What gives?

That tool is for the older 24mm adjusters, years ago they changed to 27mm, you need the newer tool.

So the next question is where to get the newer tool? The tool I got here at pelican is the older and I don't see a different one.

We use a thin wrench and just bend it to fit. Try a European tool distributor (Hazet, Stahlwille etc..)
