Yeah, it's worth it. See if they will do 8 flat. If they will, go to Canada and get it. Drive it back to the states or have them ship it. Cost me about $700 from New York to Florida.

Price seems right--esp for a turbo cab. I would love to have this ride.

it is cheap for how rare it is
turbo convert and 130k-K is low miles too

12-15 ??? if perfect ?

wiki said
''Includes 251 Turbo Cabriolet. A different source, Jerry Sloniger's article in the October 1991 issue of Excellence, indicates that the factory built 525, of which 255 were exported to markets outside Germany.''

or ''Porsche initially announced that 600 would be made; ultimately 625 were built, ''

so one of 251 or 255 non-german or 525 or 625 total
got to love wiki truth is in there somewhere

Not really, if they find the wrong information (which they got from Morgan) elsewhere then they just re-post it. They still have the wrong North American 968 production figures. So, they only made a 944 Turbo cab in 1991? Cool car.

According to wiki (if you believe them), 2402 North American 944 cabs built over two years. They produced 2,008 North American 968 cabs over a four year period.

A real turbo cab would be really rare, think a read in a article only a few hundred were produced.

re morgan: actually, morgan's information is more accurate than one might think. they did make the cars. they just didn't sell them, and in many cases never completed assembly. they are required to make a number of them each year for any changes in testing and import laws. then they are required to destroy them, so that they are never put on the street. a few have slipped out though.

as for the 951 cab, if they had brought it into the states, i would have bought one of those, rather than the 968, due to the ease of pumping it up. i'm glad i bought the 968 though, as i am probably having more fun with it than i would have had with the 951, even though it was a much longer and more expensive road to get where i am now.

A 951 Cabriolet for only $9,950? I thought it'd be worth at least somewhere around $20,000 for a car as rare as it is.

Jeff agree with you on the 968 rarity & will not argue with you about the 394 cars difference between the 968 cabs versus 944 cabs. What we are talking about here is the 951 cabs which according to reliable source indicate that 525 of those were built, with 255 of them being for the world (ROW) outside Germany. Also agree that they were only built in 91,this being a 90 it does raise a red flag but like anything built by Porsche who knows look at the 968 where car built in 93 end up being sold as 94.I intend to do more research on that car & see what give.

Thank Ernie and good points. Would the VIN tell you if it was the real deal? When a "real" 91 turbo cab shows up for sale do they usually trade for big dollars?

Found out more about this car, sorry for all the excitement. This car is an S2 with a turbo transplant & turbo logo + suspension tweeks which originally was in Texas and imported to Canada in 2004.Hence the low sale price.Don't really know the going price of a 'real' one but my guess will be upward of 20K for sure.Well so much for the rare find lol win some lose some. But still think that the price is rigth, seem the car has no issues mechanically or other ,black on black S2 cabs are kind of rare specially with a turbo in them.In the 968 world a turbo clone if done rigth will sell somewhere in the twenty if not mistaken.

Ernie,

Have you ever actually heard or seen one of the real 91 turbo cabs?

No Jeff I've never heard that there was one for sale on this side of the pound.I know that there is still some available in europe & probably Japan.Sending you an example. This one is for sale in Portugal it's pristine with only 45,000kms on it,price is quote at 28,600 euros. The only chance to get one up here in Canada will be importing it from Japan like we do with the 968 CS.

Not the case Ernie, lots of Canadian cars go south of the border. Very similar procedure.

There's a Canadian 924S for sale in my area (speedometer in km's and text in French). So yes, Murray is right.

I love the S2 cab, with a turbo engine it's even better! If I had that much money to spare I would totally buy it. But instead I plan to put a 951 engine in my 924S. Should be a lot of fun.
