Knock sensor and KLR questions.
The pinout on the KLR seems to indicate that the KLR acts much like a GM knock module does, with the exception of the fact that it also handles boost control.
The pinout indicates, at least that I see, that the KLR requires power and ground, the knock sensor wires into it, and the KLR has a single pinout that handles the "yes/no" of knock indication. Would this "yes/no" operate a light? I ask, because I read that knock sensors are tuned to the motors frequency, essentially, and require the correct sensor and module....so, I'm thinking I'll use a KLR as a counter, basically, and use that "on/off" out on the KLR to feed directly into my MS2 controller, which is running edis, for advance control. Anyone have experience doing this? |
Search PP or RL on do it yourself knock counters. It's covered.
