1984 944 solid rear end
I just put on 17" alloy rims with Yokohama tires( larger than than stock 944 rims.) on my 1984 944.
While i have been driving the car and did not get a alignment the driver side rear tire was wearing on the inside. I went to have a wheel alignment and the tech said there are no adjustments for the rear end. He said some Porsche's and Saab's have whats called a solid rear end. He said it was because the front right toe was way out of line. When i looked at the alignment sheet it was all aligned. Is what this tech told me hold water? |

The tech has no idea what he talking about. The 944 uses a trailing arm, all adjustments are made on the spring plate with eccentric bolts which requires a special tool.
I would find a place that is familiar with older German cars.

If they can't show you their copy of the factory service manuals, run away!
