Porsche Crest I'm back - and I have issues - huge oil prob

Greetings All, it has been almost 10 months since I last signed on here - job lay off, loss of my father, and the forced storage of my car kept me away...

Any who, I just got the 951 out of the body shop (slight front left corner crunch) and on my home the oil pressure light came on. I checked the oil level and all was fine, except for some oil on the TOP of my blow off valve, coolant expansion tank, and rubber intake boot and on the padding on the hood. It appears that the turbo hard line is dry and A- OK...

What is under the aformentioned that could spout oil? The air filter box was replaced because the factory snorkel was shoved into it and cracked the box during the shunt.

Any ideas are welcome. I'm looking forward to re-learning the 944 world after so long an absence.

Was it a very hot day and you had thin oil in? I had that problem on very hot days with hard driving...put in a ticker oil and problem. solved.

Thanks a lot Stray -

It is very good to be back in the Pelican world. IT is AWESOME that they take such good care of us and supply this BBS. I try to direct as much biz to them as I can...

I found the problem - there is a small line that runs under the intake manifold, branches downward and connects to the main rubber intake, oposite of the blow off valve. I have no idea why oil would be introduced to the intake, but this puppy spouts like old faithful. I put some 200 MPH tape on the hose and the metal connector, which has slowed the loss of pressure, but still not prevented it. The new hose will cost about $400, full retail... Any ideas what this is or how it works???

If I'm getting what you are saying the line according to PET is the control line. 951 110 061 03. Is this the correct part that is causing the problems or is it a rubber hose coming off the intake boot?

As you look at the rubber intake boot, you will see the blow off valve on the right. Opposite of the BOV is another hose, also connected to the intake boot, that connects to a metal line running under the intake manifold (plenum). This hose is the problem.

I am at a loss as to what it is called, or how it can spew oil and create a low pressure problem yet be connected to the intake...

Thanks for the input thus far!
