oil pressure sending unit

if the oil pressure sending unit goes out will that make all the other gages go out? if not what could happen to make it soo the fuse for the gages to not get power? i just did the oil cooler soo i could have mess up something. but i am sure i got the wire on the oil pressure sending unit hook up right. any help would be great.

Hmmm...Don't know how other gauges would stop working after doing the oil cooler seals but if your oil pressure gauge is pegged at 5 bar then you have the wires reversed...I would make sure you have a good ground from the block to the frame...Frequently these electrical problems are caused by a bad ground...Best of Luck!

If you hook the oil pressure sending unit up backwards the gauge will peg itself when you turn the key on.

Check the fuses. Clean and tighten the battery cables.

i did hook up the oill sending unit right. and i check the fuse. also i did a test to see if there was elec. getting to the fuse. there is no elec. getting to the fuse. soo what can that mean?? were would the ground be??

Lets back up in tme a bit first:

You just changed your cooler seals and R&R the pressure sender. Did you mess with or disconnect anything else?

The grounds for the instrument panel are behind it. Check your fuses again, I seem to recall there is more than one fuse for the whole instrument cluster. You can also pull the cluster and check the cable connections as well. If you pull the cluster, follow safe electronics handling procedures.

There are also 2 grounds near the headlights and one on the back of your engine.

You have a copy of the wiring diagram - Volume 5. - If none of the above correct your problem, you may have to start tracing wires.

well i will be pulling off the fuse box monday. i am bussy this week end. and i know the fuse (18) on my 944 85 1/2 look like it the only one for the instrument panel. no i did not disconnect any thing else and now my car bat is dead. hummmmmm help plz. thanx
