Angry OT - Wifes Mustang Convertible Totalled!

So the wife got rear-ended by a 77 year old man.....

Thank god she is fine, he was driving a Ford 350 3/4 ton, drove up right up the back into the back seat!

He did not even hit the brakes! Caused a chain reaction of 5 cars!

You know I work daily with seniors, and I love them .... but for ***** sake..... I can't tell you how many get their medicals signed OK! when they should of been off the road long ago!

So you will never hear any news about the old guy going down at 70 mph and not even being able to see where he is going!

Yet the news is plastered by the young kid darting in and out of traffic..... at least I can see the neon lights and 3 foot wing coming at me!

auggggghh just had to vent!

My question.....is ...but I am sure it will be a right off??? (I hope)..... but what if the insurance tries to decide to fix..... any ideas on how to deal with that crap!!!!!!!!

Hopefully they total it. My first 944 took a hit in the left rear 1/4 and screwed up the suspension and it was never the same. I imagine from the sound of the accident it screwed up a lot more things on your wife's Mustang. Buy her a 944 or 969 cabr.

sorry 968 cabriolet, it would tear me up inside to think I recommended a car that doesn't exist. :-)

Just got back from the ford dealer....................

Holy crap that thing is a write off......I am going back in a couple of days to get pics...............

Its about the size of a ford focus now!!!

There is no trunk, just unbelievable....the passenger area looks pretty good though? The doors were jammed shut. Front of the car crumpled as it was rammed into another car in front!!! Not one body/door panel that was not bent!

The funny thing, is the car was still running after all that, and she said she lowered the windows to get out....

She is one lucky gal let me tell you....

Looks like you'll have to change your sig now.

Why don't you reward your wife by buying her a nice 968 cab? I will be a step up from the 'stang, plus you can look for excuses to drive it every now and then.

Glad to hear your wife is ok,

Shame about the car, but then again, cars can always be replaced.

She is definately a keeper - you need to have her talk to my wife about getting more cars

You should definitely take her to a chiropractor.

Alot of times in an accident like this a person will sustain damage and not be aware of it until down the road........after you have settled with the insurance company.

My wife and I both suffer from chronic back pain due to accidents.

Tell your wife if she wants a Boxster that is fine......but, that you would prefer to drive a more manly car. I here tell that there are no provisions in the driver's seat of a Boxster for male genetalia............hehehe........j/k

When I was in college I had a city policeman plow into the rear of my 1969 Ford. He pushed the bumper to the rear window. I just about got knocked out by the headrest. The seat back broke backwards. The bench seat also came loose from its track.

Anyway, I was advised not to sign any medical release papers for six months to make sure there would be no after effects. There weren't problems further down the road, but the advice is good advice.

Thanks guys, I will be getting pics today (just incase the insurance tries to screw me) ......

Nabeel - I will definitely be changing the sig!, a 968 cab would be nice.... but those are pretty hard to find around here....may have to make a trip to the states. If it was older than 15 years, I would consider going to the states to get one.....(taxes etc)

AFJUVAT - WIfe is a little stiff and sore today.... will get her checked out again in a couple of days. I agree with you AF, cars are cars, I don't get phazed either by a vehicle getting totalled. Its people that matter.

951Carter - ACtually she wanted ME to get the boxster, I have been pricing them out for a while... (It would go well with my Grande SKim Milk Latte), I would have to give it the ALEX MOD and modify the interior to allow for my male genitalia

Lawrence- You know?? I looked at the car and the drivers seat was busted. SHe mentioned to me that after the impact the seat went all the way back as well......... That takes a lot of force to snap that seat... She weighs about 125 lbs...

I thank God she's ok...I hate to hear of these type of accidents, and sure enough, makes it worse when it happens due to someone who should not be behind the wheel anymore.

4 years ago, we took the keys from my Dad when he would drive real slow, and hug the curbs so tight he'd knock off a few mailboxes. It was hard, but I was more concerned for him (and definitely others) getting hurt needlessly. I also thank God that she didn't get hurt for his sake....would be real hard to live after realizing that he almost killed someone carelessly,

ANd, yes...she IS a keeper...I just hope her stiffness is just that. Take care of her, man.

Thumbs up

Ditto on the "thank God she okay" and getting her to a Doctor for a check up.

BUY THE BOXSTER! Screw the girly car stigma I'LL bet they are kick in the a$$ to drive. I would buy one in a second if I had the money. As it is I am scrapping to put together a few grand to get a 951 or 944S2.
