late MY removing window regulator : obstruction
calling those who have removed their window regulator, late MY's.
the opening where the window regulator has to come out ( as shown on Rennbay's video) is obstructed by a lock mechanism of some sort - I suspect the alarm system. see pics. any advice before I plow through and remove yet another part from the door? has anyone removed this part? ![]() ![]() UPDATE I think this is the central locking system, 86-, M341, illustration 804-06

Yep, mark it with magic marker or scribe and then remove it for access to the window regulator mechanism.

Hasty update
Removal is straightforward. The armature (?) pops off simply. Must hang part using bungee. Must allow to dangle so regulator an slide out. Door handle has to detach also. Door is shaped to allow easy regulator removal. Do not bend the door to get the regulator out the bottom. Yes, one of the top hits from a Google search shows some idiot doing this - and talking like it was a clever idea. Right side is the same as the left... I think. BTW easy to remove the lower guide rail to clean it up easily - two bolts/washers just like the regulator. Not sure how to get any of the other guides out.
